OPM3® is an acronym for the Organizational Project Management Maturity Model - a standard developed by the Project Management Institute (PMI®). The purpose of OPM3 is to provide a way for organizations to understand organizational project management and to measure their maturity against a comprehensive and broad based set of organizational project management
Best Practices. OPM3 also helps organizations wishing to increase their organizational project management maturity to plan for improvement. OPM3 offers the key to organizational project management maturity with three interlocking elements:
By assessing organizational performance, you can ensure that you have the systems and processes in place to effectively complete your project on time and on budget, while also identifying obstacles in the way of success. OPM3 compares your organization against approximately 600 best practices based on four stages of process improvement:
OPM3 can also be used to assess an organization's maturity in program and portfolio management. The result of an OPM3 assessment is a maturity continuum score and an improvement road map to boost performance in your organization. PMCC has the capability to apply the world-class standard OPM3 to assess the current state of your organization's PM Maturity, and recommend a prioritized Improvement Plan designed to move your PM Organization more nearly into compliance with its strategic Corporate Goals and Vision. PMCC can also help by evaluating your organization and making recommendations for improvement with the use of the OPM3 Product Suite, PMI's most recent PM assessment/improvement tool. Our consultants are trained, certified and licensed to use this advanced modeling system that provides the capability for either "desktop" or "rigorous" analysis (enhancement from original OPM3), and tailored, prioritized Improvement Plans using its many dimensions and/or categories:
