OVER THE LAST 18 YEARS, PMCC has assisted a variety of companies involved in shipbuilding and marine construction. At various locations along the gulf coast of the United States, as well as in Mexico, Europe, Asia, and South America, we have helped contractors building LCACs, minehunters, roll-on roll-off vessels, tugboats, pipe lay barges, jackets, decks, caissons, tension leg platforms, and compliant towers. We have assisted individual project team members to become more competent in the usage of project management best practices, and we have helped shipyards and marine contractors to improve the project management maturity of their organizations.
Likewise, PMCC has provided assessments of individual projects and portfolios of projects all over the world. Using assessment methodologies, including OPM3®, PMCC generates professional reports assessing project vulnerabilities and offers solutions. Whether the assessment is for a sub sea development or a ship modification project converting a Russian ship into a U.S. Marine vessel, PMCC has experienced staff that can help.
As is the case in other industries, promoting the usage of project management best practices in marine and shipyard operations often necessitates the introduction of common project management practices across the company. PMCC can facilitate the process of generating project processes and procedures that support the organization. From the initial effort to determine the process workflow (or change it), through the implementation of the procedures and the training of the project and management staff, PMCC can guide, mentor, and facilitate the cultural change that often accompanies the introduction of new processes and procedures.
